Time Travel

Time Travel
A collaboration by GM and RF

Time travel. It is just an invention of science fiction, right? Well, maybe not. Technically, there is nothing in science that says it isn't possible (After all, time supposedly is always moving around us), but there are many things people should figure out before trying to make a time machine or heading towards the nearest wormhole.
First of all, by traveling back in time, some horrible things are pretty much guaranteed to happen. For example, you could end up with no clothing, which is obviously pretty bad. Are you confused? I get the feeling you are. Well, here's an example. Say your 100% cotton shirt was made a year ago. You wear it to time travel two years back. Two years ago, that shirt was probably just a bunch of seeds. Wouldn't you be wearing a pile of seeds? Further more, would the seeds be around/on you in the time machine or in the field that it was in at that time? Think about your time machine too. If you time travel back to before your time machine was completed, it would malfunction and eventually collapse. Plus you could disappear if you un-age enough to stop existing.
This brings us to the next point. The whole time travel concept is, as a guy who we think could be a clone says, a paradox. It's a huge contradiction, basically. Let's say you manage to go back in time five years without having a time machine breakdown. So would there be two of you? One? None? Infinite? Same goes for everything else that is time traveling with you. There's also that scenario where you go back in time and kill one of your ancestors or yourself (I'm not sure why anyone would ever do that, but I suppose stranger things have happened.). What happens?
RF's dad claims by time travel, most people mean "they want to travel through time without being affected by it." To actually travel through time that way, you'd need to move faster than time itself. This is another mind boggling concept. How would this work? If you were to time travel back, you'd travel forwards for at least a tiny amount of time, right? The theory that moving backwards or forwards in time always causes aging is starting to sound a whole lot more logical.
Also, if there's time travel in the future, then why has no one from the future come visit us? Did their machine break down or did they disappear? It all seems very strange. It's very possible they died in the process. There are theories that they may be disguised as normal people or no one will ever discover time travel. It's probably best for the human race if time travel isn't ever used, although many will disagree.
GM's brother says that the point of time travel is to go to a different universe where time is slower. But how do you know there are more universes? If there aren't, wouldn't you have to transport the entire universe? It seems nearly impossible to transport the entire universe back in time. We'll need a immensely powerful source of energy to do that.
On the other hand, it's possible time is but an illusion!*

* It's an interesting thing, but we'll leave that for another post.

Yes, this is not what we usually post and a little longer than the others. Sorry if you aren't into this type of stuff.

  1. Does anyone want to know who the supposedly cloned person is?

    1. Well, you should probably ask that person for permission to use that person's name first

  2. ok, this is interesting, but u just made me kinda confused and pondering about this

  3. Oh, and maybe when you go back in time, you inherit your body from the person from that time. But if you go to far forwards or backwards, you will cease to exist. And I know who the clone is. He hates Spongebob!

    1. Inherit doesn't sound like the right word for that situation.....

    1. Your dragon picture was not a perfect square (ie. 100 * 100 pixels). Profile pictures are typically square, so Blogger cropped your picture to a square, I think.
