Who Answered?

If you answered the newest trivia question, please leave your name in the comments.
Of course, you don't have to. I just wanted to know who is answering.

Update: I had to tweak the trivia question a bit, so go answer again.

Happy Fibonacci day

Bias

Since there has been a lot of comments about whether or not GM's latest trivia question was biased, I am here to describe bias and why I think the arguments are invalid.
First of all, what is bias?

1.
an oblique or diagonal line of direction, especially across a woven fabric.
2.
a particular tendency or inclination, especially one that prevents unprejudiced consideration of a question; prejudice.
3.
Statistics . a systematic as opposed to a random distortion of a statistic as a result of sampling procedure.
4.
Lawn Bowling .
a.
a slight bulge or greater weight on one side of the ball or bowl.
b.
the curved course made by such a ball when rolled.
5.
Electronics . the application of a steady voltage or current to an active device, as a diode or transistor, to produce a desired mode of operation.

I'll assume the comments were referring to #2.
(If any of you were referring to any other definition, please let me know immediately.)

Let's take a look at the question...
"Snow Cone uses Glaciate. What is Snow Cone supposed to be?"
Arguments that this is biased basically are saying "But I never played Pokemon in my life!"
I say this is completely invalid

What if the question were "Billy Bob Jo can breathe. What is Billy Bob Jo supposed to be?" with answer choices of a glass of water, a homo sapien, N's Nexus & with a glass of water, and a water bottling factory? You most likely wouldn't say it is biased for whatever reason. Maybe because the word breathe is more common than glaciate? Maybe because Billy Bob Jo is a more popular name than Snow Cone? Maybe because you have played a game in which a character is named Billy Bob Jo?

Even if you've never met Billy Bob Jo or memorized a list of everything that can breathe known to mankind, you still have a chance of  getting the answer. That's the thing about trivia questions. You either know it or you don't. And with our multiple choice set up, you can still get it right without knowing the answer. With my Billy Bob Jo question, all I did was replace "Snow Cone" with "Billy Bob Jo" and replace "glaciate" with "breathe."
n- typo u put & instead of 7

Unhappy Thanksgiving

Right now, there is a cliche on the Internet, and it is "Happy Thanksgiving!".
But of course GM has to disagree.
Have you ever considered how terrible Thanksgiving is to turkeys, domesticated or not?
Most of you say "Poor turkey," and continue eating, carving, or cooking the turkey. However, this is not true sympathy. If you do that and not anything else about the turkey then you don't really care about them.
  You should care.
   Why?
If one day you turned on the TV and saw a breaking news report about how thousands of people were crammed into pens with no personal space, fed hormones and chemicals, lived and slept in their own poop, and were mass murdered at a certain time of year in a factory to be packaged and processed into mystery meats or sold whole and eaten by people, you and the rest of the world would be absolutely horrified.
But, this is what happens to millions of poultry birds every Thanksgiving. Actually, the description that I just gave you was probably 5 times better than what really happens to domesticated birds.
Domesticated fowl live painful, miserable, short lives.
There is one thing that irks me even more than the plight of the turkey. Remember the paragraph that started with the word "If"? (If you don't, now is a good time to make sure you have no mental problems.)
If you do remember it, then let me ask you several hypothetical questions. If there was a news report on the horrible living conditions and life of the turkey, how long would it be? How long would it be talked about? How many people would stay glued to their TVs waiting for an update on who would be prosecuted for the torture of the turkey?
The answer is "A lot less than if the news report were about people being mistreated". This is because people value their own lives over the lives of animals or basically any other living things. The only reason this would be justified is if you are starving and impoverished in a third-world country or something just as bad.
However, turkey mass-murdering happens in America, where every person is doing better than that person in the third-world country.
This is why you should start caring for someone other than yourselves(like a turkey) since you have everything you need at your fingertips Take a couple steps back, past the celebrities and politics, and see the big picture. (not literally)
Then you would find out that the Earth itself is dying, turkeys are being mass murdered, and most first-world dwellers preoccupy  themselves with stupid politics, diet plans, and celebrities( none of which are necessary for anything but mass stupidity) in a unfortunately successful act to convince themselves that there is nothing wrong.

Which is why you should never use diet plans.

Musical Monday #7- A real one, except for the fact it's Sunday...

Well, I finally found some time to do a MM in the original way!
Although you might not have heard of this song  probably have no idea what this song is, I found a surprisingly large number of things to take literally.

"I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz

Success!

Finally, I have made a trivia question that  has stumped 75% of the people that answered it! It wasn't even that hard! Only one person got it right, and that was RF, whose answer does not count since she used Google! 75% percent of you put "A paper cone with some ice inside" when the answer was "A Kyurem"! Snow Cone is my Kyurem and knows  the move Glaciate. A Kyurem is a Dragon and Ice typed Pokemon.

Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

I succeeded in stumping all 6 of you with this question!

                                                              This is a Kyurem.

RF here. I think, as you have noticed, my posts are often fillers for those long stretches of time where everyone is too busy to post. Perhaps people never comment on some of my posts because I leave them speechless with my amazing work? Plus, I wanted to add that post popularity can be determined in different ways. Yes, by views, you two have the tops. I, however, hold the 3rd and 4th places. Anyway, I think I tend to write what the general population cares about. I have brought 8 hits by posting the YOLO post. Oddly enough, "I reported wendy" is the second search keywords that went to our blog.. If we count by comments, I think Alec has the best comments to post ratio. Wendy's stuff is also pretty controversial.

Bye Bye, Hostess!

Musical (Not) Monday #6

Well, since I missed so many MMs, here's another one. Not the original type, though. I think I might be doing music videos for a while.

This is a small random compilation of music I found.

Here, we have the "sequel" to the song we love to hate- "Friday." Surprise, it's mostly about... Saturday.

Next up, a guy who plays pop song excerpts on the piano. Amazing! I for one really enjoyed this, although I'm not really into pop. Maybe because I play piano?

Here are these brothers who call their group "Nuttin But Stringz." Despite their spelling skills in the naming process, their performances are not bad. They're no Beethoven's, but I like how they combine classical music with other musical genres. However, I do not approve of them throwing their bows...

A Post That Is Supposed to be Offensive

Some time ago, the Why Not? team had a problem with Lily cussing in the comments. This problem was taken care of, but today I went on the blog and found an Ashley Hudspeth-Adams asking who Wendy was and cussing. This violates our two rules about commenting: don't ask who Wendy is and don't cuss. Now this "Ashley" may not have been aware of this, but now she knows. So there is no reason for more cussing and spam from her.

Not Really Longer...

The weekend really hasn't gotten any longer. The weekend is still just Saturday and Sunday. Today, Monday, isn't really a day of the weekend. It's just a day off that happens to be right after the weekend days. In fact, many people who don't work on weekends are still going to work today. We mostly have the day off so government workers can get a day off. Anyway, although I've referred to breaks like this one as "long weekends," that's probably not the best term.

When I mentioned this to N, he sighed like my logic was totally illogical.

Surprise!

So, in the poll that asked what the special prize for the 3333 contest was, most people chose "surprise!" Since N won, I guess he should get a surprise. But, I am not sure what should be given. I'll try to think of something and give it to N on Tuesday.

For a Limited Time Only!

The fish at the top of the page will be invisible for a limited time.

GM's Goals for the Longer Weekend

Goal 1: Make hexaflexagon. (This is because I heard RF say "I still can't make a hexaflexagon.")
Goal 2: Clean tetra's tank. (If you don't know what tetras are, then you are banned from the authorship contest.)
Goal 3: Make convincing fake interview of parents because they never had a teenage job.( This is the hardest part of the math project: the non-math part.)

All crossed out goals have been done.

Trampoline

One day rf and i were getting our instruments from the orchestra room and were walking out
we talking about math and some random girl comes up to us and says, "Is that a trampoline?" , pointing to RF's cello
RF then replied,"No!"
then we discussed the differences between a cello and a trampoline
and there are a lot of them

the reason i am posting this is because RF said that she thinks this would be disrespectful to the stupid girl

in my opinion RF is too nice

Gary Who? Stein? Another Party? Say What?

America has a two party dominance. Republican and Democrat. The Independent parties hardly stand a chance! Leading up to this Election Day, pretty much everyone asked me, "Who would you vote for president?" I always answered Gary Johnson, an answer to which all but one person responded with either a "Who's that?" look followed by an unineterested shrug or by yelling "Nooooo! I meant Obama or Romney! Is it even, like, legal, to vote for Gary Johnson anyway?"*
Considering the chart below, it's a pretty impressive feat that Johnson even got 1% this time around!

Anyhow, this isn't exactly a fair game. Obama and Romney, as you might know, spent a total of $6 billion on campaigning! Third parties don't get equal campaign funding and therefore less publicity. Others may side with third parties but don't want to "waste" their votes.

I'm just saying that I feel third parties totally deserve a chance. After all, America is supposed to be "with liberty and justice for all." It was not founded to have a strict two party system. People from other parties used to be elected more often, but our last third party president was Fillmore, of the Whig Party, in 1850! (I think... Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Just my thoughts... Sort of a follow up to N's "3rd parties" post.

*Most were strong Obama supporters.

stupid 3rd parties

why are they called 3rd parties if there are more than one
and they are stupid because we wont get a majority in florida because the 3rd party canidates are taking about 0.8% of the vote there causing mitt romney and obama to be neck-and-neck but neither gets a majority
then no one gets the electoral votes and there will be a big legal siut
it will be a repeat of the 2000 election
just saying , but al gore should have won
we would have been a lot better off

if u r in florida and reading this--
if u didnt vote then u will be the cause of this
u could have prevented it
ur vote counts

Note: I don't mean that I absolutely enforce the idea of "YOLO." Like as in the belief that people only live once. I have no solid proof of that for you. I meant to put across the idea that YOLO shouldn't be carried out by going to stupid parties and doing stupid things.
