5 Craft Supplies that are Better than Duck/Duct Tape

I can't remember when duck/duct tape got so popular as a craft supply and decoration. It was somewhat interesting at first, seeing how many things people could create from rolls of sticky plastic mesh. However, it quickly became incredibly old (to me, at least) and duck/duct tape crafts lost any appeal it might have had in the beginning.*
The following items are definitely much better.

1. Washi tape

I know what you're thinking, I think. But no, washi tape is not pretty much exactly like duck/duct tape. Washi tape may not be quite as strong as duck/duct tape, but seriously, who needs craft projects that can stand up to a tornado? Anyway, washi tape is a paper tape that originated in Japan. It's a bit like masking tape, but it has so many different colors and patterns, and it's also translucent. Plus, being made of paper, it's biodegradable.

2. Sharpies

Hopefully, you know what Sharpies are. They are wonderful. Like, duct tape, Sharpies can be many colors and hard to get off, which is usually a good thing for Sharpies. Sharpies have nice colors, and there's a range of sizes. You can easily decorate just about anything with these.

3.Stickers

Stickers are not just for children to adorn their shirts. Stickers are for people everywhere to express themselves! Like duck.duct tape, stickers stick. Stickers are superior though because they have so many different shapes and designs. Have you ever seen a sarcasm foundation patterned roll of duck/duct tape? I think not!

4. Glue Dots

Glue dots aren't that pretty, but they are an awesome adhesive. Alas, they do not have the strength of duck/duct tape, not that they should or anything. Glue dots are more versatile than tape, glue sticks, and liquid glue. Actually, it's kind of like all three of them combined into one roll of sticky greatness.

5. Paper

Paper is like the fundamental supply for creation. What's great is that there are so many different kinds of it. Notebook paper, graph paper, origami paper, tissue paper, poster board paper, toilet paper, etc. Throw it! Cut it! Sit on it! Fold it! Hide behind it! It's amazing what paper can do. Yes, more amazing than those duck/duct tape prom dresses.

*With the exception of GM's amazing pencil topper and ball of bad grades.

  1. Glue dots aren't that sticky. Remember our last science project? The house made of glue dots fell apart in eight shakes. Also if you get a little bit of dust on a glue dot, it will become un-sticky. Mr. Bull Jaw is technically a finger puppet.

    1. That's why houses are not built with actual glue dots. But they are very fun to stretch and make glue dot balls with and other things.
